Bless The Lord

It has been a really interesting trip down memory lane recently...

I love that I have found some Babbie Mason songs on iTunes. I'm listening to them nonstop. I haven't heard these songs since I was listening to them on cassette tape in Grandmom's car. Crazy :)

I also made those oyster crackers with ranch that Mom used to make. :)

Over the past few months I have realized the need for fresh starts. Cleansing. Spring cleaning. It's like exfoliating in the shower. It isn't just cleaning the surface. It's digging deep inside and getting rid of the junk deeper...deeper...at the root. If you want something really clean and fresh it may be rough, gritty, harsh. But the end results will be the best.

I feel at my best when I really get rid of the things that pull me down. When I refocus my life and my mind and my heart to where it needs to be. Some people say that when your life revolves around your work it is unhealthy. I disagree. When I think about the things that my life COULD revolve around instead I realize that allowing it to revolve around my job..what I'm passionate about.. is a pretty healthy alternative.

What do I think about when I first wake up? What do I think about when I go to sleep? What keeps me going during the day.. pushing me forward with something to look forward to? If I think the answer to any of these questions is unhealthy, it's time for a refocus.

I love life. I have never lost that. I realize that optimism and positivity allow life to be okay no matter what.

I'm so ready to get back to Omaha. I miss it so much. I know that this next year of my life is going to fly by... Omaha, Senora Tortuga, Student Teaching, Graduation. I'm ready :)

Who can turn the world on with her smile?
Who can take a nothing day, and suddenly make it all seem worthwhile?
Well it's you girl, and you should know it
With each glance and every little movement you show it

Love is all around, no need to waste it
You can have a town, why don't you take it
You're gonna make it after all
You're gonna make it after all

How will you make it on your own?
This world is awfully big, girl this time you're all alone
But it's time you started living
It's time you let someone else do some giving

Love is all around, no need to waste it
You can have a town, why don't you take it
You're gonna make it after all
You're gonna make it after all

This has been such a wonderful semester. I have done a lot of self-evaluating and through that have learned a lot about myself and how I interact with the people around me. it has been wonderful. Bat Boy, Boy Gets Girl, Westville, all great experiences. I am really excited about next semester. I can't wait to begin rehearsals for "Alexander.." What a great show to assistant direct.

I love being an adult. I love knowing that the world is right around me and around the corner from me. I love being close to graduation. I love the things that I am going to be doing next semester and next fall before I student teach in the spring. I am also very excited to head back to Omaha. I miss it a lot. I love all of my friends and being able to learn who my true friends are.

I love pictures from camp, my origins candle, office supplies, my portfolio, lesson plans, picture frames, my heater, rearranging my room, text messages, 13, my  ipod, organic milk, haircuts, martini nights, singing with friends, TYA scripts, directing, sign language, cherry limeades, harmonies, sweater vests, in the heights, old friends, new friends, inside jokes... to be continued.

The sun will come out tomorrow..

I am packing right now to head back to Ga. It's crazy how fast the summer went by. I've loved every second of it.

I finished my portfolio. I love it. It's like my baby lol. :)

I'm looking forward to getting back to Columbus to start working on stuff this semester... Westville... Boy Gets Girl... APO... etc.

I really hope to be here next summer... possibly doing.. well I don't want to jinx it. We'll see. :)

I can't believe my time in Omaha is already almost up. Only 2 more weeks of camp. I have loved this experience so much. I am really excited about meeting with James about my portfolio and auditions for next season. High School Musical maybe? :)

I closed King Lear this weekend. I was sad to see the cast go but it will be nice to have my evenings back now.

It's been really fun to work on Once Upon a Mattress again. I love being Musical Director. It's a really talented group of students.

I have also loved going to church at OFUMC... AND teaching Sunday School. I've been teaching 3rd-5th grade sunday school. I'm using Creative Dramatics to teach the parables.

I'm looking forward to get back to Columbus. The drive back to GA should be fun. As soon as I arrive I get right back into rehearsals for Westville. That will be fun. Then before I know it classes will have started again.
